A thought-provoking article, yes… I don’t think I ever “t-epenthesize” at all when I’m speaking in Spanish, but I’ve just given it a try and, except for the r+s case, it felt quite acceptable. So I wouldn’t be surprised if some (or a lot of) Spanish speakers indulged in this practice.
